0Soundgarden review
³-----------------------------------²«Soundgarden review»³-----------------------------------²By: ¹Walt Slade²
A few months ago I bought ¹Soundgarden²'s ³Badmotorfinger², 'coz I
had read so much of it and everyone seemed to love it. Well, I put it in
my CD-player, pressed the play-button and I was ready to hear some fast
and thrashy music, but what did I get - some shitty heavy tunes... I
really hated the band then, but I listened to it a few times and I
realized that it was one of the best bands I've ever heard. If some band
is original, it's Soundgarden, whoaahh.
The first song, '³Rusty Cage²', is a weird but marvellous piece
of music. The lyrics are intelligent and good and the music itself is
just as weird as I wan't it to be. One of my favorites on this CD. The
second song is a bit harder and the bass breaks your ears. WOW! This is
something I call music. If you're asking my opinion, I would say that
'Outshined' is the best song on the album. Then there is 'Jesus Christ
Pose'.. Uhh, this is _the_ weirdest heavy metal tune I've ever heard.
Makes you feel dizzy..:)
No more crap about the tunes.. ³Chris Cornell², the vocalist, is
one of the best vocalists I know. He really knows how to use his voice.
He really sings, he doesn't mumble or scream like almost all the
thrash/speed metal vocalists do (don't get me wrong, I llllove
thrash/speed metal and th/s metal vocalists) and he doesn't sing with
his nose, like W. Axl Rose..:) The bassplayer, ³Ben Shepherd², is also one of
my fave bassists (no one beats ³Cliff Burton!²), but maybe it is just
because you really can hear the bass in Soundgarden's music. The
guitarists are not so unique as the rest of the band is, but they do
their work.
If you wanna know more about the album, buy it yourself and
enjoy.. You won't regret it.
Seattle bands forever...
